The best way to keep up to date with Altrincham Kersal RFC

1st XV - Match centre

Altrincham Kersal
Sat 2 Dec 14:15 - Northern Division - North One West Full time

Strong team work and great rugby, brings deserved rewards at last for 1XV

Stelfox faithful celebrate a deserved and long awaited victory.

A long awaited win and much needed shot in the arm for the 1XV, as they hosted Carlisle RUFC 1XV here at Stelfox Ave, with no game for the 2XV today, there was a large crowd cheering on the 1XV to support and encourage as they set out to continue to improve results, after last weeks too close for comfort encounter away at Manchester RUFC.
The match didn't get off to the greatest of starts, as Carlisle went ahead early doors with a try from James Brocket, AK soon back into the fray, coming back to 2 points adrift from a penalty expertly taken by Matt Tully, who added more salt into Carlisle's wounds kicking another penalty soon after, AK now 1 point ahead.
The game started to move away from the visitors as AK's forwards worked really well together, line outs and scrums were strong and the link between the forwards and backs got AK on the front foot with solid defence shown throughout.
With tries from Paul Mallaband and Rob Worsfold and Matt Tully executing 3 pens and 2 conversions, the game was all but sealed for AK.
Try scorers: Paul Mallaband and Rob Worsfold and Matt Tully 3 pens and 2 conversions
A much improved and determined performance, giving the crowd something to celebrate, AK travel to the Isle of Man for their next match to face Douglas 1XV, Saturday 9th December 2:15pm.
