13 try bonanza for AK1XV
credit to Fleetwood though who never gave up.
Altrincham Kersal hosted Fleetwood on Saturday for the latest round of the League competition.
Altrincham Kersal took a very early lead with a well worked try in the first two minutes which really set the pattern for the whole game.
The half time score was set at 45-0 in a game where the local side dominated the set piece and produced some excellent running rugby,
Fleetwood were by no means a push over and Altrincham Kersal had to defend with an intensity that was fully committed by all the players.
The only blot on the first half was a cheap shot punch on the blind side on the Altrincham Kersal Scrum half by the Fleetwood number 20 Hooker which left a young player with a fully swollen eye and mild concussion.
The second half progressed in very much the same pattern with the final score being 85 - 7 with Fleetwood scoring and interception try when the score was 78-00.
All credit to Fleetwood who did not give up, but who on the day were outplayed.
Altrincham Kersal scored 13 tries from Doug Whyley (2), James Coulson (2), Chris Loughlan (2), Mica Dyos (2), Danny Booth (1), Jack Wise(1), Rob Worsfold (1), John Coulson (1) and Sam Gallimore (1).
Doug Whyley also converted 3 attempts whilst Sam Gallimore slotted 7.
This means Altrincham Kersal maintain their lead at the top of the Lancs/Cheshire 1 League and travel to Tarleton on Saturday 19th January for the next fixture.
