Sefton 2XV 6-46 Altrincham Kersal 2XV
Kersal travelled to struggling Sefton weekend in the hope of continuing their winning run.
The game kicked off and it was Kersal having to do the defending as we were pinned back in our 22 for the first 10 minutes of the game, with Sefton looking to put an early stamp on the game. After soaking up the pressure it was Kersal that came up trump with the first score of the game through winger Matt Moss. Another followed quickly from Jordan Roberts after forward dominance in a maul put Kersal 12-0 in front. Another try from Matt Moss, converted by Paul Howarth, saw Kersal go into the break 22-6 up.
The second half kicked off and it wasn't long before Kersal continued the scoring trend with Callum Robinson crossing for a try to make the score 27-6. More scores followed from scrum-half Ged Scrase and winger Matt Moss for a hat-trick to make the score 39-6 still with 10 minutes to go. Kersal were forced to defend well as Sefton went in search of their first try of the game; their efforts would prove fruitless as the wall of Kersal defence resisted. The last say went to Kersal as a break from Jack Snoddy lead to a try scoring opportunity from new centre Alex Jordan, which after a conversion from fly-half Paul Howarth made the final score 46-6 to Kersal.
The win sees them extends their lead at the the top of the Division 2 South league and Kersal's next fixture is in a fortnight's time when they welcome Didsbury Toc H 2XV to Stelfox Avenue.
