If recent history is repeated, we should be comfortable winners this Saturday. In the past few seasons, we have narrowly lost to Sefton away but been clear victors at home. However, this week's opponents are on a winning streak of 4 matches and, having most recently recorded an excellent away win against Bowdon, they will be tough to beat.
But, we will have a strong team on the paddock with an excellent backline and an interesting experiment in the back row with Ollie Whorton and Fili Mafe on the flanks. This should give us a great presence at the breakdown but how will they fare in defence. Ollie and Fili are among our most robust tacklers in the backline and it remains to be seen what their close-quarter defence is up to!
It is sure to be an interesting afternoon at Malone Field.
Kick off time has now reverted to 3pm for the rest of the season.
The referee will be Mike Walsh of the Liverpool Society.
If you can't make it to any of the SAINTS games, make sure you read Jim O'Loughlin's excellent match reports.
