Brodsworth 2-3 Appleby Frodingham
An away win which might have been easier
For a change Frod were out of the blocks quickly, and a goal on 2 minutes was the reward. A quickly earned corner was delivered by Tom Wilson for Tony Laynes to stroke it home. Frod were dominating the early exchanges, and a great move on 12 minutes saw Zak Shipman place a perfect ball to Tom Dent, who delivered a first time cross, and a first time finish from Tom Wilson saw a deserved 2-0 lead. This seemed to spur Brodsworth in to action and they started to push us back, and to be fair we stepped of the gas a little. On 30 minutes brodsworth were awarded a penalty after Frod failed to deal with it at the back, Jordan Quibell got nowhere near the spot kick.
To be fair Frod management were the happier to see half time
Half time 1-2
The second half saw a more composed Frod start to enjoy more of the possession and territory, as they had in first 20, and they were controlling any threat from the home team, and when they did break through they found Jordan Quibell, in inspired form, having made several good saves during the game.
Then on 80 minutes Ryan Short found a gap to feed in Tom Beasley, who slotted Home well. That, it would have seemed was that, but on 90 a corner wasn’t cleared and brodsworth found themselves back in it. As it was Frod held on to deserve the 3 points
