Appleby Frodingham 6-0 Askern
A comprehensive 6-0 home win takes the Steelmen second in league
After a fairly even 15 minutes frod took the lead when a ball from Tom Wilson was spilled by the keeper, and Daniel Varley was on hand to slot the loose ball home from 12 yards. Frod now took total control of the game, but still had to wait until the 24th minute to increase their lead, when a big leap from Robin Woodforth found Craig Shorthose, who intern found Tom Dent who fired in from the Corner of the box. Frod continued to push forward, and on 29 minutes a Tom Dent cross found Tom Wilson, who's header was finding the bottom corner until it was deflected into the opposite corner by the centre half , Tom Wilson was credetited with the goal. Tom Wilson then got his 2nd on 44 minutes, when he latched on to a Stu Longbone flick on to finish with a cheeky lift over the onrushing keeper.
Half time 4-0
The 2nd half seen the game continue in much the same vane as the 1st, but to be fair to the visitors they looked a little more dangerous from set pieces. This was until Frod killed off any sign of a come back on 55 mins when Tom Wilson got his 3rd, finishing from a Stu Longbone rebound of the post. Then on 60 mins Tom Dent struck a lovely free kick from 22 yards to finish the scoring, and allow the introduction of substitutes for the home team
With the game secured, Frod could manage the effort they put in for the last 30 minutes, and changes were made with the up and coming Lincs cup game this weekend
Full time 6-0
