Collingham 0-2 Appleby Frodingham
Great second half performance earns the points
In danger of sounding like a stuck record, frod started slowly again, and struggle to get any momentum against a busy Collingham side who pressed us in the right area. That said the opposition didn't create an awful lot of chances during the opening exchanges. Frod manager made the decision after viewing about 30 minutes to switch some personnel around, and it steadied the ship to be fair.
Half time 0-0
The second half (with Frod's change in positional personnel) was a complete reversal of the first half trend. Frod were pressing higher up the pitch and causing Collingham real problems in dangerous areas. This pressure was rewarded when Frod were awarded a free kick around 30 yards from goal, Tom Wilson stepped up to curl a superb effort right into the goalkeepers top left corner. This lead was fully deserved by the away team. Frod continued to press and carved out a couple of more chances for Tom Wilson, who went close on two more occasion with a sweet little dink over the keeper, just wide of the post, and then the keeper pulling of a wonderful save to keep Collingham in the game on 75 minutes. Frod got their reward for the hard work that all were putting in, when a super move with 4/5 players involved saw a delightful chipped ball from Wilson, finished well by Jamie Ture
Frod were able to give run outs to Harry Smith and Tom Beasley from our under 18 set up again, and also give new signing Zak Shipman the last 10 minutes. All in all, a great nights work
