Davy Rainey aka D.R - In memory:

The thoughts of many Ards rugby members and players are with the Rainey family this week, remembering the late Davy Rainey also known as D.R.

The legendary Comber man passed away on the Hamilton Park pitch 10 years ago whilst playing for Ards 4ths v Cooke.

Davy was a great Ardsman and an inspiration to many younger than himself.

His appetite for rugby and the camaraderie it brought was unsurpassed.

Indeed, he inspired an all Ards McCambley Cup Final that season when Ards 4ths played Ards 5ths at Ravenhill.

Sadly missed.
