All roads lead to Hamilton Park on Saturday 31st October, for the first North Down Derby between Ards and Bangor in a number of years

All roads lead to Hamilton Park on this Saturday, not only is it the first North Down Derby between Ards and Bangor in a number of years but it is also the Rugby World Cup Final between New Zealand and Australia.

Ards Rugby President Neil Workman enthused,

'I can't wait for this match, this is what local rugby is all about, local derbies, Ards v Bangor has been a long time coming and unfortunately we had to be relegated from the All Ireland League for the match to take place, Bangor are a good team and on a high, but our guys have been progressing well under new Head Coach Dave Irwin and Captain Mark Banford and will be up for this match, some have never played in a North Down Derby, there is big competition for starting places; this is the game everyone wants to be involved in!'

The big derby match kicks off at 130pm and the RWC Final at 4pm.

The special pre-match lunch and post-match dinner in the clubhouse with former Ulster player Ian Moles (one of the few Ulster men who can say he beat the Aussies) as guest speaker has already SOLD OUT.

Such is the interest in both these matches Ards Rugby have teamed up with local company Micasa Events to provide outside bar and catering facilities which will include a full bar, a heated marquee with seating and big screens to cope with the demand.

So come along and support your local rugby teams and then watch the RWC Final at 4pm.

Following the RWC Final there will be live music in the clubhouse from 630pm.

Admission to match is £3, Under 18s free.
