On a bright sunny and very hot day and on a flat pitch Arlesey brought back Ryan Frater and Lee Allinson to the starting line up and dropped Dave Deeney into right back to cover for the suspended Cam Mawer. Arlesey won the toss and looked purposeful from the start, and indeed from the kick off they pushed forward. Good work down the right by Dave Deeney, Stuart Sinclair, and Joel Mason brought a good cross in from Mason to Dean Sinclair who was felled on the edge of the "D". Having scored a few goals from similar positions in recent weeks Deeney, Lee Allinson and Ryan Frater all lined the ball up as the ref positioned the wall and after several "dummies" by Deeney and Frater, Lee Allinson curled the ball around the edge of the wall and past Chisweshe into the bottom corner of the net with a great kick to give Arlesey the lead with just 58 seconds on the clock.

Hampton pressed forward to try and put the early goal behind them but Arlesey looked firm at the back with Frater looking dominant heading a good cross clear. Arlesey countered with a good move down the left with Chris Marsh feeding Chris Dillon who in turn fed Mason who fired in a shot that took a deflection enabling Chisweshe to make a good take.

Ryan Frater was booked as he slid into a tackle and showed just a little too much stud for the refs liking as Hampton pressed forward. From the free kick Paul Johnson fired a ball just wide of the post. The game was being played at a very quick pace despite the unseasonable heat, Stewart Duff put a good ball out to Nathan Collier who switched the play over to the other side with a cross to Dave Tarpey but his cross in was much to deep and it drifted out. Johnson also did well as he won a ball on the edge of Arlesey's area but he could not control his shot and it went high and wide of the goal.

The game was swinging from end to end with Deeney getting in a cross that was taken by the keeper and Duff for Hampton cutting in from the left and firing in a low shot that was well taken by Mark Osborn. From a Hampton corner Matt Ruby got in a good header but Derek Brown was on hand to turn it over the bar for another corner. From the Brown and Ruby continued their personnel duel as Brown headed out only for Ruby to flick the ball back in the mix but it was too high and went over the bar.

Arlesey had a good chance as Marsh fed Mason through past the floored Dean Inman, Mason bore in on goal but his low hard shot was well saved by Chisweshe. Arlesey pressed forward again as Dean Sinclair fed a good ball to Dillon who in turn put a good ball out to Mason; he put in a good cross back towards Dillon but it was blocked out just in front of the striker. Arlesey won a corner as Deeney's cross was blocked The ball was headed out only as far as Dean Sinclair who crossed it back to Stuart Sinclair who fed Mason and the Dillon into the box before it was blocked again by the defence. With Arlesey pressing, a break down the right by Hampton fed the ball into Tarpey on the edge of Arlesey's box, there didn't seem to much danger from this but Tarpey unleashed a tremendous shot that smashed off the cross bar and over the line giving Osborn no chance and making the scores level at 1-1 with a goal that would grace any game.

As Hampton now pressed forward Collier cut into the box before being well blocked by Fabio Bufano, the ball came back to Lewis Ferrell who fired in a shot from the edge of the area but this was well taken by Osborn. Arlesey swiftly countered as Dean Sinclair attacked down the right and put in a great cross to Chris Marsh who looped a great header back over the keeper and into the other side of the net to restore Arleseys lead with another really good goal. Hampton tried to press forward again and really should have equalised just a minute later when a cross in from the right was met by Duff but he put his virtually free header was put wide of the post. Hampton were pressing forward as you would expect from a Conference side in this position, Collier made a good move down the right before he was stopped by a good tackle from Bufano but he won a corner which Arlesey were able to clear. Callum Stewart fed a good ball onto Tarpey who cut in and fired in a low shot but it went just the wrong side of the post for him.

A corner put in by Ferrell was over hit drifting straight out which seemed to be symptomatic of Hampton's game on this day. From the goal kick out Mason fed Dillon right through the Hampton defence and as he took it into the box Chisweshe dived at his feet, the keeper got a touch as Dillon stumbled and if he had gone down the ref would have had little choice, but he took another step trying to hit the ball in but in the end it was a tame shot straight at the grateful keeper.

As the half drew to a conclusion a great ball over the defence by Deeney found Mason in the clear and as he got to the edge of the area he made no mistake this time firing in a low hard shot across the diving keeper and into the bottom corner of the net to give the home side a 3-1 advantage at half time. Arlesey came out for the second half obviously still on a high from the goal and in their first attack Dean Sinclair cut into the box and fired in a shot that was blocked, the ball came back to Chris Dillon who under pressure shot past Chisweshe with some aplomb into the bottom corner of the net in increase the lead still further. With things now getting desperate Hampton pushed forward with Collier taking a long shot through the middle that was easily taken by Osborn, and Duff over hitting another deep cross that sailed out of the playing area. Hampton made a double substitution with Jacob Erskine replacing Bradley Simmonds and Charlie Moone replacing Stewart Duff in an effort to get back into the game.

Arlesey were still pushing forward as Dean Sinclair danced into the box beating 2 defenders before slightly over hitting his cross which was put out for a corner. The corner was dropped in by Allinson and only half cleared as it came again to Allinson, he looked up and put in a ball aimed at the far post area but the defence was a sea of confusion as Dillon and Mason lurked within it and the ball missed everybody to bounce into the far post and into the net for his second goal and Arleseys 5th. With the game now looking in Arlesey's pocket they started to look to blood some of the younger players and replaced Dean Sinclair with Liam Mcgovern in the midfield. Hampton defence were looking like the heat was really getting to them and from a corner nobody was watching Ryan Frater quietly moving into the box and Allinson's well hit ball was met by him as he easily nodded the ball over Chisweshe into the net to make it 6-1 to the delight of the home fans.

Hampton replaced Callum Stewart with Sam Hurrell as they threw everything up front and Arlesey replaced Joel Mason with Jordan Patrick to put fresh young legs up front for them. James Simmonds made a break though the centre and fired a shot that went wide of the post and Chris Marsh responded at the other end as he fed in Dillon who slotted the ball past Chisweshe before the offside flag went up. After Tarpey put his shot over the bar when being fed through the centre Arlesey replaced Dave Deeney with Jordan Browne who had impressed against Tilbury in the previous round. A good ball from the right found Dillon who fed it onto Marsh now in the centre but his shot went over the bar. Jordan Browne also got a good ball as he overlapped into the box and was only stopped by a very good tackle by Inman deep in the box.

With nothing to loose and all of their forwards on Hampton pushed forward, Moone cut in from the right and shot from the edge but he was well wide of the mark and a cross in from Tarpey was well headed clear by Frater. A good ball through the centre by Dillon found Marsh in the box, he tumbled over as he was tackled but nothing was given, and on the counter Tarpey put in a good hard cross that slipped through a crowd of players to find Jacob Erksine and he drove the ball just inside of the post to grab a goal back for Hampton.

A free kick for Arlesey on the edge of the area found Marsh who laid it back to Jordan Patrick in the centre of the box, but the youngster could not grab his moment of glory and blazed in over the bar from a great position, but his time will come.

Tarpey again did well as he beat 2 before shooting and Osborn had to push his shot around the post for a corner. As time started to run down Tarpey again cut in from the right and fed Simmonds whose shot brought a good save out of Osborn. In time added on another good cross down the right from Tarpey was not collected by Osborn and the ball was flicked on to Erskine in the centre of an open goal, but from only 3 yards out he somehow headed over the bar, to give Arlesey an impressive win against the team from a higher League.

This was a good performance marked by some very good finishing and it is to be hoped that confidence will now have gone up accordingly. Next up the next round draw (fingers crossed for a good draw) and another home game on Tuesday against Barwell one place ahead in the table.
