Due to us having a bigger squad this season a new way of selecting the team has been put in place to avoid people rushing to get to the game on time if we already have 11 ready to play.

The idea behind it is to keep the Arley way of turning up and playing but to add a bit more structure to it so we have more of an idea of the numbers and what time you expect to turn up.

Due to work commitments, some of us cannot always guarantee that they will be there at a certain time but the most important thing for Arley is to put out 11 players - so a rule has been introduced for the people that can play.

The Yes/Maybe/No Rule;
Yes - You can play and guarantee you'll be there before 6:10pm
Maybe - You can play but no guarantee what time you will arrive.
No - You cannot play

The rule is to let the captain know if you can or cannot play first of all and then state whether you can be there before 6:10pm/20mins before start of play - or whether you can play but you cannot guarantee what time you can make it to the ground.

This gives the captain an indication of how many are going to turn up before 6:10pm which these are certainties to play(Yes) - as long as they arrive at 6:10pm or before. If they don't then they will be moved in to the 'maybe' section.

The maybe section are those who can play but cannot guarantee what time they will arrive so who those that turn up first to make up the 11 will play - you can sit out if you want/swap places with someone if you want, I will leave that up to you if you don't want to play.

This hopefully solves an issues we may have if something happens on the day of the game and they cannot make it. For example being stuck in traffic etc... As we are hopeful to have 13/14 coming to the game in case of any issues.

Obviously if you cannot make it, then please let the captain know.

The captain expects you to contact them without a reminder, which they'll need to know by 8pm on the day before the game(usually a Tuesday) on your availability otherwise you will not be considered for selection.

If an occasion occurs where we have more than eleven yes's that can play, then we will sort that out at the game before we play as I'm sure we'll still have people that will be happy to drop out - this also goes for the maybes, where it's up to you if someone else turns up and you want to sit out etc...
