Tuesday's (7th) game in doubt

Welfare Vs Parkgate doubtful (Tues 7th Feb) INSPECTION - TUES 12:30PM - 1:30PM

After Saturday's postponement, the last thing Armthorpe Welfare want is for more games to be called off.

Welfare have won in their last two league games, and would prefer to carry that momentum into the coming games. Enforced breaks like this make that harder to do and lead to fixture pile ups later in the season.

There is still hope that Tuesday's game could go ahead, but the chances are very slim.

The pitch is rock solid and is covered with a few inches of snow at the moment. Even if the snow manages to clear in the next couple of days, the pitch itself doesn't stand much of a chance of thawing out.

Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing on Sunday night and only reach around 4 degrees on Monday. They will drop below freezing again on Monday night and barely register above 0 all day on Tuesday.

Of course forecasts are know to be wrong!! Therefore, we are hoping to schedule a pitch inspection for Tuesday afternoon. Details of which will be displayed on Twitter first once we know the outcome. The pitch inspection result will also be displayed on here as soon as possible.

Welfare are also at home on Saturday against Bridlington Town, so we will have one eye on the pitch and the weather all week!

UPDATE (Mon 6th 22:30) - There is a pitch inspection on Tuesday sometime between 12:30pm and 1:30pm ahead of tomorrow nights game. The pitch is still covered in snow today and so the game remains in doubt.
