The main event of the celebrations of the 20th Anniversary of Army Rugby League on 2nd May is a game between the RATS and the Parliamentary Animals at Sandhurst, followed by a dinner. David Hinchliffe, formerly both MP for Wakefield and Secretary of the All Party Rugby League Group, is one of the VIPs that have been invited by the ARL.
Although David is owed such a great debt of gratitude by us all for his efforts in getting Rugby League recognised in the Forces, he was so proud when he received the invitation, that he had to burst into print. His article, reproduced by kind permission of the editors of Forty-20 magazine, is attached and gives some flavour of the tremendous work he put in to get our sport recognised.
