CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS
Welcome to another season at the recreation ground where, in yet another division, we look forward to renewing old rivalries with clubs in Midlands East (North) most of whom we know very well. We enjoyed our brief adventure in the west last year and, had a couple of decisions gone our way, might have continued to set off in that direction for a number of seasons. We come back to these more familiar surroundings with knowledge that we beat some of the better teams in Midlands West 2, gave all of them a good game and are easily able to hold our own at that level. What we didn’t do was organise and train as well as any of the other teams in the division. For our first team, then, this is a pivotal year in which we need to decide whether we are collectively prepared to show the commitment necessary
to turn our ability, talent and strength in depth into consistent results or whether we are happy to enjoy ourselves at a level where we are comfortable without stretching ourselves too much. Our new team of captains and coaches will have a number of challenging decisions to make if we are to fulfil our potential.
