A new training session for girls in Years 4 to 6 will be held at Ashby RFC on Tuesdays from 5 to 6pm.
It has been identified that one of the reasons we lose girls to rugby is because of contact with the boys and that it is daunting for new girls to start rugby if they have to start doing contact with the boys (although not the same for everyone)
To mitigate this, Ashby RFC is starting a new team where girls in Years 4 to 6 of school (U9s to U11s) can come together to play rugby. This is aimed to keep girls in rugby, to support those that are playing with the boys and to introduce new girls to rugby. It is not aimed at taking girls from the mixed teams, but rather to support those that are still playing or introduce more if we can.
Girls in Years 4 to 6 train at Ashby RFC on Tuesdays from 5 to 6pm.
