Ashington look forward to the visit of sunderland

Ashington 1st team are looking to maintain their early season form when Sunderland visit the rec on saturday. Ashington are looking to avenge the defeats last season by Sunderland and have picked a strong squad that are more than capable of winning this game. Ashington welcome back scrum half Alan Halliday after his unavailabilty last week and also bring Mick Wood onto the wing after injury. Ben Jones also starts at 2nd row after putting in some hard work on the training ground to show that he is well capable of playing at this level. Owen Jarvis reverts back to 13 with Turner playing at 15. Over the last 5-6 weeks Ahington have picked from mainly the same 20 players and that consistency of squad is now paying benefits as team spirit, morale and confidence is good and this, along with a good game plan, should be enough to see the home side to another victory this saturday. K/O is 3pm so why not once again come along and support the team. As an aside the club is also holding a Halloween party at the club on saturday, starting 7pm. Fancy dress, why not also pop along and support the club, tickets £5 and you can pay at the door
