WARRINGTON TOWN vs ASHTON UNITED
DATE: TUESDAY 22ND AUGUST 2017
KO: 7:45 PM
VENUE: Warrington Town Football Club, Common Lane, Latchford, Warrington, Cheshire, WA4 2RS
Ashton come into this game on the back of a morale boosting 2-1 victory over Grantham Town, and again are faced the difficult task of playing the current league leaders, this time the leaders being Warrington Town.
Warrington Town come in to this fixture with two wins and a draw under their belt with the most recent being a 3-0 victory away at Coalville Town.
Manager Jody Banim will have been pleased with the performance of new signings Josh Granite and Pilkington, whilst also being relieved that Josh Stachini’s injury is much less serious than first thought.
Jody Banim has gone on record to say that Warrington will be “a tough game” however “the lads will be prepared for it”
ONE TO WATCH
James McCarten is the one to watch for Warrington Town described as ‘a rock at the back’ he is the club’s longest serving player having been at the club since 2012, starting his career in the Everton youth academy he captained their under 18 side. He also has football league experience having spent a short time on loan at Accrington Stanley, following his spell at Everton he had a short spell in Wales with Aberystwyth before ultimately joining Warrington in 2012. McCarten has been a vital part of Warrington’s and in no doubt playing a big part in them only conceding one goal so far this season.
