Ashton United still remain unbeaten in all competitions as they negotiated a tricky FA Cup tie away to Prescot Cables last Saturday, running out 1-3 winners. It’s back to league action this Saturday with the visit of The Gingerbreads who themselves have made a good start to the season with 3 wins, 2 defeats & a draw. They stand in tenth position in the league on 10 points and will certainly be looking to take the unbeaten record off Danny Johnson’s team. Like Ashton United they are capable of scoring from all positions and have netted 7 times in their last 3 league games, so it poses to be a good game to watch with goals on the cards.
The club will also be welcoming some budding photographers to the game in a rerun of the Happy Snappers photographic competition run by the clubs Press Officer Jez Sayle. This is a unique concept in non-league circles and the club is delighted with the response in this it’s second year and looks forward to receiving the images taken at the game.
