Ashton United will be hoping the start of a new month will bring with it a change of fortunes following the midweek defeat away to Whitby Town.

The Robins have now gone four games without a win as their depleted side suffered a 2-1 loss at the Turnbull Ground on Tuesday night, with the victors moving up to second in the table.

United haven’t picked up three points since beating Stafford Rangers 3-1 at the start of September, with a draw against Hednesford Town being followed by defeats to Buxton, Rushall Olympic, as well as Whitby making September an unhappy month for Robins supporters.

A lot of the winless run can be put down to the amount of injuries the squad have suffered recently, but Joint Managers Will Haining and Jody Banim will be wishing lady luck will be shining on Hurst Cross again on Saturday.

Leicestershire based side Coalville Town are the visitors on Saturday and The Ravens will be hoping for a bit more luck themselves, after their 5-1 defeat last time out.

The Ravens, as they are known to their fans, are struggling at the start of this season and are currently sat just above the relegation zone in twentieth person.

Ashton will be banking on the visitors struggling again come Saturday afternoon as they look to get their own season back on track!
