It's That Time Of Year!

As you all know we have been plagued with more bad weather this last 2 weeks and very little work has been able to be done on the pitch at Hurst Cross. Even the divots haven't been put back from the last match, that’s how bad the weather has been. Our ground staff haven't been able to access the field, without causing further damage. 'Gods Garden' doesn't look in such good condition (pictured) without a lot of work and tender loving care from our volunteers, but even they get overwhelmed sometimes. We need help over the next couple of days urgently!! Can you help us out?

Groundsman Andy Finnigan is not able to get on the pitch with the tractor and roller until Saturday morning, as the pitch is just too soft. Before he does we need to have all the divots back in place, and this is the most time consuming job for just one or two people, and we really need help this morning (Friday) with it.

We will assess the weather tonight to see if there is a need to put sheets on the pitch in front of the main stand in case it freezes over night.

Saturday Morning we will need help with the pitch and making sure the terracing is free of snow and ice – help again if you can please.

If you are available please call Ground Director Andy Evans:07939979559 or Groundsman/Secretary Andy Finnigan 07866360200 to sort out access to suit you. Expected times are:
Friday from 11am – Pitch diverts – clearing snow.
Saturday from 9.30am – Pitch diverts – clearing snow – pitch marking – pitch rolled & brushed.

We so much want to get this game played on Saturday. With your help we can!
