ASHTON UNITED vs COALVILLE TOWN FC
DATE: TUESDAY 13th MARCH 2018
KO: 19:45pm
VENUE: Hurst Cross, Ashton-Under-Lyne, OL6 8DY

Ashton welcome struggling Coalville Town to Hurst Cross this Tuesday. Despite being 14 points clear of relegation Coalville have only won once in their last 11 league games, that last victory coming back on the 6th January, a 4-2 home win against fellow strugglers Sutton Coldfield Town. Their last game was a 3-2 cup win away to Stafford Rangers, which will no doubt give Tom Brookbanks side coming into this fixture. Ashton on the flip side are currently sitting in the play offs with only two defeats in twenty, their last defeat coming at the start of February away to league leaders Altrincham. Ashton’s last league outing was a comfortable 3-0 home win against Halesowen Town.

ONE TO WATCH:

TOM MCGLINCHEY;
A summer signing from Leicester Road FC, the young twenty year old attacking midfielder has taken to life in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League quite well and has managed to score six goals in all competitions so far this season, his latest came in their last cup fixture as he scored the first goal in Coalville’s comeback win away to Stafford.

PREVIOUSLY AT HURST CROSS;
Last time at Hurst Cross was Ashton’s first ever encounter against Coalville Town and it was a comfortable victory on the day for the Robin’s. Jack Dyche opened the scoring 14 minutes in after Richard Smith won the ball and passed to Dyche who calmly provide a left foot finish to put Ashton ahead. 9 minutes later Dyche won a free kick 25 yards out which was taken by Lee Gaskell whose strike easily found the net and Ashton went into the break 2-0 to the good. Ashton made the three points safe ten minutes into the second half as Lee Gaskell crossed the ball into the box on the left hand side, his cross found Dyche who squeezed an effort under Coalville’s Matt Coton to secure Ashton won the game 3-0.
