It has been confirmed that first team coach Dave Powell has left the club to take up the managerial vacancy at Prescot Cables FC.

Powell joined the club two years ago to join Danny Johnson's backroom staff as first team coach, and last season took on the role of head of player development, working closely with the Ashton United Development Squad.

He revealed that it was a tough decision to leave but having had previous managerial experience at Ashton Athletic he felt that this was a good opportunity for him to get back into management at a good standard of the game.

Ashtonutd.com would like to thank Dave for all his hard work whilst at the club and wish him well in his new role at Valerie Park.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone at AUFC and I wish the Club every success in the future. I have enjoyed my time at the Club immensely and it has been a really tough decision to move on.
It has been an absolute privilege working alongside Danny, Robbo and Dave, and also Robbie Talbot last season.
The players have been superb throughout and I would like to thank them for "putting up" with my coaching!!
What else can I say, but Great Club, Great Manager, Great Players and I hope to see you all again soon.
    Very Best Regards
    DP
