Robins begin their season at home v's The Dabbers. Preview by Joel Sanderson-Murray

Hurst Cross will be opening its doors for Evo Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division action for the first time this season on Tuesday night as Ashton United play host to Nantwich Town.
The Robins began the campaign in an impressive manner on Saturday where they ran out 3-1 winners against Frickley Athletic at the SW Jackson Utilities Stadium.
Ashton showed great character on the opening day to come from a goal behind, courtesy of Frickley’s Tyler Williams, to take all three points. It will not be lost on joint managers Steve Halford and Paul Phillips that it took them three games to record a win on the board last season so the positive start can already be considered an improvement.
New summer signing Lee Gaskell got his Ashton United career off to the perfect start, continuing where he left off in the league last season for Darlington by netting twice on his debut. Robins fans, who were apprehensive what the loss of last season’s top scorer Martin Pilkington might do to their chances this season, may feel a lot more confident that they have found a more than able appointment.
Next up is the first home clash of the season against last season’s playoff challengers Nantwich Town. The Cheshire side pushed Ashton to the near end in the race for a playoff place last season but came up short finishing 8th in the final league standings.
The Dabbers started the season with a 3-1 defeat to Mickleover Sports on Saturday and will be vying to recover from the deflated start. The Robins will be hoping to continue their 100% record.

Please remember there will be a bucket collection at Tuesday's game in support of the victims of the Curzon Road explosion, last week, where one person died and several others were seriously injured. Please give generously in support of people who have lost virtually everything.
