On Saturday 13 May 2017, the community of Hurst and District are coming together to present HurstFest 2017, an event that will be held at Ashton United's Hurst Cross home venue.

Ashton United in the Community has secured funding through the Big Lottery Celebrate programme and the aim is that the whole community benefits from a fun event that is free to attend. We would like to hear from your organisation or group if you would like to become involved. The event will have a 60’s theme, entertainment throughout the day, and will be designed to bring local people together in all their diversity and to celebrate everything that is ‘Hurst’ in 2017.

There is also a call for individuals who might want to volunteer their time helping the event run smoothly.

There will be zones on the following themes:

• Health & Wellbeing Zone – sports activity, health checks, healthy eating, advise and support.

• Stage – Entertainment split into time slots.

• Music Zone – An area where people can experience making music, jamming sessions, African Drumming lessons, etc.

• Food Court – an area dedicated to affordable food from varying cultures. Could also include dietary advice and cooking/baking competition.

• Pre-School Zone – an area dedicated to small children accompanied by an adult. Games activities for small children.

• Youth Zone – young people’s activities, arts and activities.

• Community Zone – advice information from businesses, statutory and voluntary sector services.

Could your group/organisation be part of Hurst’s offer in one of these zones?

Would you like to be a volunteer in planning and helping with the event?

If you would like to become involved, please express an interest by completing the form and returning it to Ashton United Football Club by Friday 6 January 2017. You will then receive a more detailed application form to be submitted by Wednesday 18 January.
