It all happening down at Hurst Cross this month!
On behalf of the organising committee I would like to invite you and your family along to Hurst Cross to celebrate HurstFest on Saturday 12th May 2018, starting at 12 noon. This is the second HurstFest we have organised, and we are hoping that it will be bigger and better than last year as we have discovered more about what the people of Hurst and district want to see at their event. This time around we have introduced a football tournament for the Under 11's age group and are delighted to say that our local Member of Parliament, Shadow Secretary of State for Education, and Patron of Ashton United in the Community, Angela Rayner MP, will be along to present the winning team with their trophy and medals around 3-30pm.
There are plenty of things lined up for people to see and do with a broad range of activities for the whole family. We have entertainment in the arena from top Motown and Soul DJ Ray Lee who will act as Master of Ceremonies introducing music, local dancers, and singers throughout the afternoon. Dotted around the arena are craft stalls, community groups, faith groups and local charities, all showcasing what they do and how you can join in and benefit from locally provided services and activities. Food, drink, Ice Cream and Candy Floss all available, you can even have a free health check for after you have overindulged! And there won’t be a fun day without the face painters, games, inflatables and fairground rides.
Once again access to the stadium is free, although we would ask that all adults make a donation of, at least, £1 per programme with ALL donations utilised towards the next HurstFest.
