The Robins welcome Marine to Hurst Cross, Written by Robbie Coppack

Ashton United v Marine | 6/1/18
The Robins welcome Marine to Hurst Cross this weekend as Jody Banim encourages his side to forget about last weekend’s disappoint at Buxton after the game got abandoned 20 minutes in. Richard Smith had put Ashton ahead on 12 minutes but due to floodlight failure and game couldn’t continue.
Jody Banim’s men come into the game still unbeaten in their last eight league games, a run stretching back to October. Ashton have also made Hurst Cross a fortress in recent weeks and haven’t been beaten on home soil in the league since September and the Robins have a good opportunity to continue their rich vein of form against a Marine side sitting just outside the relegation places.
Marine haven’t scored in their last three games and have shipped seven goals in the process, losing two consecutive home games against league leaders Altrincham 3-0 then losing to Stourbridge 4-0 only four days later. Marine started the New Year with a 0-0 away at Warrington Town and will use that result as a platform to try and climb up the table in 2018.
Marine’s away form has been encouraging for in recent weeks, not been defeated on their travels since late October in all competitions.
The teams last met at the Marine Travel Arena and the Robins come out on top in a seven goal thriller as Ashton recovered from a two deficit with a last minute winner from skipper Mark Lees ensured the Robins took home the points to win 4-3.
