Match Preview by Joel Sanderson-Murray.

Ashton United will be hoping to exact some double trouble on Spennymoor Town this weekend as they face the County Durham based side for the second consecutive game.

The clash at Spennymoor saw The Robins put in what many consider to be their best performance of the season so far as they came from behind to grab a huge 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Ryan Crowther and Lee Gaskell.

United now see themselves positioned in 11th position on 32 points, just 2 points off the playoff places which is commendable after a difficult few weeks in terms of results due to player movements and injuries.

Hurst Cross will be the host to football again come Saturday and Ashton will be hoping to use the home advantage to do the double over Spennymoor and set themselves up for a positive end to 2016.

The game kicks off at 3pm and is sponsored by Roche AV who are having a staff Christmas party at the game. Let's hope the Robins can bring plenty of Christmas cheer to the party.
