The match sponsors at Ashton's home game with Nantwich Town last Saturday were former manager Gerry Quinn (1999-2004) and a group of players from his time in charge at Hurst Cross - between them they totalled over 1,650 club appearances for The Robins and 230+ goals.

Gerry Quinn spoke very positively about the 2018 Ashton United side after watching the current Robins' side win 2-1, and after the game he selected Sam Sheridan as the Man of the Match for a dynamic performance in midfield - capped off with the match-winning goal from a direct free kick.
