Former Ashton United, Mossley and Hyde player Scott Hogan has completed a transfer from Rochdale to Championship side Brentford.
An undisclosed fee was officially quoted in press releases, although a figure of £750,000 has been widely attributed to the move.
Hogan (22) was released by Rochdale in 2010 and spent time at Woodley Sports, Halifax Town, Mossley (on loan) and Stocksbridge Park Steels before joining Ashton United in October 2012. A powerful and pacy forward or winger, Hogan immediately caught the eye at Hurst Cross and was invited to Kidderminster Harriers for a trial in early 2013, before being snapped up neighbours Hyde just before the transfer deadline.
Hogan moved onto Spotland after completing the 2013-14 season at Ewen Fields; he netted the first of his 19 goals in 40 appearances on his debut - the opening day of the season - and also scored in a famous 3rd Round FA Cup tie win over Leeds United in January 2014.
Peterborough tried to secure his services in the January transfer window but Hogan stayed on to help Rochdale secure promotion to League 1, earning a place in the League Two 'Team of the Year' as recognition of his contribution to his team.
