Robins on the lookout for commercial expertise. Post readvertised.

'we ....are an attractive proposition to business'

Ashton United are seeking applicants for the position of part time Commercial Manager at the Club. The successful applicant will provide new business income for a thriving and ambitious football club, as well as achieving continued support for its current excellent sponsors. Remuneration package is negotiable but will be based upon commission from sales.

Duties and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities are attracting investment in the club by way of sponsorship and other general fundraising activities, including ground advertising, programme advertisements and match sponsorships, together with increasing membership of the club lottery. The successful applicant will also boost income with current advertisers, as well as secure new business.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required
Experience of working within the football, sports, or the sales industry would be beneficial though not essential.
Experience in sales, cold calling would be an advantage.
The role will be supported by members of the Board and would potentially suit a retired/semi-retired person, or person requiring work around caring obligations, with a selling background. Hours of work will be flexible to suit both parties.

Formal expression of interest, with contact details and a current CV, should be directed by email to stevehobsonaufc@live.co.uk with the Subject Heading: ‘AUFC Commercial Manager’ or telephone Steve for an informal chat 07868849184.

Vice Chairman Steve Hobson said, 'Rather disappointingly we have received no applications for this role. We are a very well run club that is solvent. We have had three very successful years of late under the stewardship of Chairman Terry Hollis. We are playing a role in building our community capacity and are an attractive proposition to business wanting to promote their company and reach out to the community through corporate social responsibility.
The final piece in the jigsaw is to improve our commercial engagement in order to provide our management team with increased resources to 'carry us over the line' to promotion'

Why not give it a go?
