Saul Henderson signalled his return to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's Premier Division with a goal after 53 minutes of his debut for Ashton United (02.09.14).

Henderson (20) had originally trialled with The Robins at the start of the 2013-14 season but opted to remain at North West Counties Football League side Maine Road until February of this year, when he was persuaded to move into the Evo-Stik League by then Stafford Rangers' manager Graham Heathcote; he subsequently scored a number of goals for the Marston Road outfit - including one against Ashton - as they unsuccessfully battled relegation.

Having started this season at Northwich Flixton Villa of the NWCFL, Henderson joined Ashton at the end of last week - at 6'6" tall he looks likely to pose a handful for Premier Division defenders, especially if paired with 6'4" tall team-mate Richard Bennett - although it was his footwork, rather than his aerial prowess, that brought him his goal at Skelmersdale on Tuesday evening.
