Robbie Coppack looks to shine at Hurst Cross

It's fantastic news that Robbie will be helping us out for the coming season
- Head Of Media, George Clayton

Ashton United is delighted to announce that over the summer the media team at Ashton United has grown considerably and we now have enough help to professionalise the clubs media output.
Someone who has been with us for nearly a year under ex head of media Mikey Brown is Robbie Coppack.

Robbie studied a Business and Media degree at UCFB Etihad Campus and achieved an impressive 2:2, despite this Robbie is still eager to learn and contribute at Hurst Cross.

As an introduction into our volunteers Robbie provided us with some info to which he stated,
"I’ve been passionate about football for my entire life, both my Grandad’s have footballing backgrounds; one was a Football League referee and the other played football for numerous semi-professional teams so I’ve always grown up with football being the focal point at home.

I am a season ticket holder at Burnley and have been since I was 7, I hate missing home games and so if I’m not at Hurst Cross on a Saturday afternoon, I’m probably at Turf Moor. I have aspirations to write professionally about football, whether that is for a newspaper or within a football club, I’m open to either right now. I am currently writing articles for FootballTips.co.uk and with nearly a year under my belt at Ashton, I should hopefully have a stronger foundation on my CV to reach professional football clubs.

I started volunteering at Ashton as I was eager to get some experience and at the time I was living in Manchester so I wanted a relatively local club I could travel to without any major transport issues. I contacted Michael Brown who was of media at the time and he invited me down to a game and I've loved every minute since".

Upon the news that Robbie would be carrying on at Ashton United Head Of Media George Clayton stated "It's fantastic news that Robbie will be helping us out for the coming season. Robbie has been here for similar amount of time to myself and I know how good he is within the club and his writing is exceptional. I have no doubt that Robbie will be moving on to big things after his time with us".

This article is one of many that will highlight our new volunteers over the coming days as they are what makes the club run soundly.
