Yeltz pegged back at the last minute!
Report by David Robinson.
Ashton rescued a point from the West Midlands thanks to a last minute equaliser from Lee Gaskell after the hosts had squandered a two goal lead.
The Robins gave a debut to recent signing Lee Knight and welcomed back winger Matty Chadwick from injury and it was Knight who made a quick break down the right wing in the first few minutes and saw his cross reach Gaskell whose effort was blocked for a corner which was eventually cleared from close in.
Gaskell then just failed to reach Chadwick with his return pass and Jack Dorney saw a great shout for a spot kick waved away leaving the Robins still penalty-less all season but on the quarter hour a right wing cross reached Lee Chilton at the far post and he fired the ball back into the area from where Jordan Goddard was able to force it home from the host’s first attempt on goal.
A clearance then fell to Richard Sho-Silva who sent a skimming effort just over before Goddard failed to latch on to Haynes’ ball through the middle and Goddard then threatened again hammering an inside pass just wide of the near post.
On the restart a quick break saw Knight just unable to gather Gaskell’s flick and the centre forward then sent a volley well wide but the Yeltz then moved further ahead as a loose pass out of defence saw Kaiman Anderson’s cross lead to Goddard’s effort being blocked before Anderson followed up to poke the ball home.
The visitors then made a couple of substitutions before Tunji Moses fed Cavell Coo and his right wing cross side footed goalwards by Dorney with Gaskell touching the ball home from an offside position.
Dorney was then set free down the left wing and his cross was converted at the far post by Knight and almost on the final whistle Knight won a corner which was taken short to Banim who worked his way to the by line and saw his cross converted for the equaliser from close in by Gaskell.
