Ashton United vs Grantham Town
Evo Stik League Northern Premier Division
Tuesday 11th October
Kick Off: 7:45pm
Hurst Cross
By Joel Sanderson-Murray
A last minute equaliser from Lee Gaskell saved the day for Ashton United on Saturday and may just have been the kickstart to the season the club needed.
After a tricky few weeks which saw only 1 win in 5 games for The Robins the club were staring at more misfortune on Saturday when they went 2-1 down to Halesowen Town before summer signing Lee Gaskell struck to earn United a valuable point.
It may turn out to be the boost the Tameside club needed to get their season back up and running following the difficult start.
The draw follows a 3-0 win at home to Coalville Town, and the Robins are back at Hurst Cross again on Tuesday night as they look to finally put a string of positive results together.
Tuesday’s visitors are Grantham Town who are currently three points and five places behind Ashton in 13th position.
The away side are coming off the back of 2 straight victories after claiming wins against Whitby Town and Stafford Rangers and will hope the momentum continues on Tuesday evening.
