Manager Danny Johnson confirmed today that Peter Wright has also left the club alongside Liam Dawson, but joining are Kevin Sanasay and Warren Beattie.

Manager Danny Johnson has this morning confirmed to the AUFC website that Peter Wright has left the club but welcomes the signings of both Kevin Sanasay and Warren Beattie. This week has seen a few changes to the playing squad but the manager believes the squad is now as strong as ever and with a little luck with injuries his squad can start to climb the table.

The manager explains ‘I am confident the signings of Craig Robinson quickly followed by Mark Peers will be the catalyst that will re-start our season and now I have also added Kevin Sanasay and Warren Beattie who will both add so much more to the squad. Kevin has been around this level for a long time and has always scored goals when playing against my teams, I now hope he replicates that and scores plenty of goals for us. Warren has everything you want from a central midfield player. He has great vision, passes the ball very well, he knows how to tackle and will work as hard as anyone in the team. I said earlier this week that we need players who will take responsibility and Warren is certainly one of those. I hope all at Ashton United give them a warm reception on Saturday.’

‘Liam Dawson departed the club on Saturday and following a conversation with Peter Wright last night he too has departed. Both players were seen as key elements of my squad and normally I would have been very disappointed to lose them but I have recruited quality additions and I am hopeful of making it three maybe four new signings over the next couple of days. Even though results haven’t gone our way of late I firmly believe these are exciting times for the football club both on and off the pitch. We have a really good bunch who believe me are working as hard as they can to turn our season around. We will come out fighting on Saturday and we will be ready to have a right good go at Bradford PA. I am sure everyone connected with the club will wish both Peter and Liam all the very best for the future.’
