Murphy on the Mend

7 years ago By David Hills-Taylor

Midfielder Ged Murphy is recovering well after suffering a nasty head injury in the Monday night clash with Matlock Town.

Murphy suffered the injury when he challenged for an aerial ball during the match, and had to be taken to nearby Tameside hospital for treatment. However he is now recovering well as club Physio Danny Fishwick today posted on the club forum:

'Ged suffered a very nasty gash on the top of his head on Monday night and was sent to hospital. He had it glued and is recovering well. He's fine but will have a short lay off from physical contact, as is the norm with head injuries of this type and in general. Thanks for your support during what's turning out to be another busy period for me!'
