Difficult day at the office for Under 13's
Ashton battled hard but paid the price for a sleepy start on Sunday in Audenshaw.
Aldwinians 9 (5) -v- (1) 1 AOM
After some recent good performances, it was a shame to see the Boys' looking lethargic and lacking confidence in the first quarter of this match. By that point, a lively and physical Aldwinians side had run in five tries. Ashton did get back in to the game well after the first break, with Etienne scoring an excellently worked try down the right wing. The scrum was once again rock solid but try scoring opportunities were in short supply.
As with many recent fixtures, there were periods where Ashton dominated the play in the scrum and at the breakdown, however the opposition managed to score with too much ease when possession was lost. To be fair to Aldwinians, they tackled well throughout and deserved the win.
If the Boys' can add some defensive steel to their work rate, the results will no doubt come in the second half of the season.
