U12s - no team 2017/18 - Match centre

Sun 19 Mar 10:30 - Friendly Full time

It's a small small world...

Ashton's under 12's battled hard to record victory on a severely under sized pitch against Eccles. The Boys' then lost on the last play of the game against Bolton.

Eccles 3 -v- 4 AOM

In challenging conditions with rain falling and the wind blowing hard, Ashton put in a determined performance to win their first game of the day. This was a game made for the forwards given the extremely small and narrow pitch (25m across!).

At half time Ashton led 2-1 through two tries from Seb. Seb scored again after the break completing an excellent hatrick, before Niall scored from close range to secure victory.

Tries - Seb (3), Niall

AOM 2 -v- 3 Bolton

Ashton came up against a much bigger and taller Bolton team in their second match of the day, but more than matched their opponents for the majority of this match. Bolton scored three break away tries, with the final run creating the winning score to break Ashton hearts. Earlier, Etienne had chased down a long kick from Josh to make the half time score 1-1. Seb added a forth try of the day in the second period.

With the backs having little room to work in, the game was dominated by strong forward play. There were some excellent performances but Matthew and Ben were deserved men of the match, both having a big impact in the second half against Eccles.

Tries - Etienne, Seb

Man of the match - Matthew and Ben
