22-7 win over Blackheath

A 22 - 7 win over Blackheath yesterday was a good reward for all those who have put in the hard yards over the summer.

Tries were scored by Joe Blackman, Dave Tate, Joe Linyard and Frank Turner all of which were scored from excellent open play.

The game gave debut appearances to Jack, Christian & Connor who all performed extremely well. It was also great to see Kailan, Paul, Charlie G, James & Jon back in Askean colours following prolonged absences.

Man of the match in my view went to Joe Linyard who played exceptionally all game. Dick of the Day was Steve Judge who forced the reporter to go back on for the last 10 minutes due to his discussions with the referee!

Next week sees the first league game of the season against Lordswood who have come down from Kent 1 in a 3pm kick off game at the Rectory Field. Charlton Road, London, SE7 7EY.
