SUPPORT COMING IN FOR ASKERN

SUPPORT COMING IN FOR ASKERN image

Askern Villa has started the clear up process after last weekend’s vandalism, which smashed windows in one cabin and burnt the other one down.

A couple of local businesses have already been in touch with us, Pearson Roofing has offered their services and skills to help with repairs.

While the Co-operative Store (Petrol Station), have offered £200 of stock for the refreshment.

Hopefully a few more people in the community will get in touch and show their support to the club.

While Askern Welfare Cricket Club have offered their tea room for us to use on match day for a hospitality room.

Club Secretary Dave Hall has spoken to the Football Foundation regarding the possibility of applying for funding to make the grounds more secure (Fencing & CCTV).

The football foundation will only fund 50% of the cost, so it means finding the other 50% ourselves or finding another funding organisation, which won’t be easy.

We want all the debris cleared away before our next home match with Yorkshire Amateurs (Saturday 11th February) and this will be followed by Brad Johnston’s Soccer School, which starts on Monday 13th February (5 days) and is designed to attract local youngsters to participate in football and to keep healthy. In the past this has been supported by Doncaster Rovers players.
