Askern travelled with members of the squad missing due to work commitments, even so the 1st half was an even contest, we took the lead just before the break with a goal from Chris Hart. We then came under a lot of pressure from the home side who levelled 15 mins into the second period.
Matlock continued to press for big periods, but 12 mins from the end a poor back pass to the keeper allowed Haydan Tomlinson to pounce and turn the ball into an empty goal, Askern managed to hold out for the win.
