Margison Reflects

With a 3-2 win behind them Athersley entertain Staveley on Saturday. Currently sitting in 12th place Staveley will be a tough opponent for Athersley. Sean Margison gave his thoughts on the win against Clipstone.

"First and foremost it was a good performance in all aspects, work rate, attitude and importantly application. We got the early goal and although they equalised we then went up the other end and took our chances which gave us something to fight for. We kept our shape better than we have been doing and even against the wind in the 2nd half limited Clipstone to a handful of opportunities. We still looked dangerous on the break and thats been another noticeable difference with our midfielders getting beyond our strikers more often recently. We have got to be brave enough at times to go and play and not just sit and see what happens. Clipstone were 8 unbeaten I think and have the leagues top scorer in their ranks so hopefully we can get a bit of confidence from the game and try and push up the league. Its going to be difficult and i think we are all realising that, but we are all working hard to improve.
Saturdays game is another tough one, Staveley are doing well. We need to do our bit and go and perform again, If we do that we will have a chance of getting something"

The game is a 3pm KO and we hope to see out fans turn out in their numbers and get behind the lads.
