Adders League campaign is well and truly up and running as they score six times at Sheepy Road......

Adders went into the game missing seven first teamers, with Harris and Gray injured, Douglas and Shorthouse suspended and Haines, Bilic and Ball all away.
It's a testament to the strength of the squad that has been assembled by Ivor Green this season, that he can put out such a strong sixteen with so many players not available.

Chelmsley started their League season last Saturday with a 2-1 win at Paget Rangers and with the confidence they gained from that win were looking to get another positive result.

Inside the first three minutes Adders showed their intent with Naughton twice going close, and half chances for Baxter and Thomson.
The next ten minutes consisted of total Adders domination of both possession and territory, but in the 13th minute they were nearly caught with a sucker punch as Jem Mills found himself free of his marker, but after outpacing the Adders rearguard he pulled the ball back behind his strike partner Gummery and the chance came to nothing.

They were soon made to pay as two minutes later the impressive Harry Walker-Donovan got free on the right and his pinpoint cross was volleyed home by Mitch Thomson.

With the deadlock broken Adders began to put the visiting side under enormous pressure with half chances for Naughton, Thomson and Walker-Donovan all being spurned, the only surprise was it took them until the 28th minute to double their lead.

Walker-Donovans' cross from the right was controlled and laid off by Naughton to Alan Miller who struck an unstoppable shot past Andreou.

A minute later it was three as this time Miller found acres of space on the left of the penaly area, his pass found O'Neill, he cut the ball back for Walker-Donovan who teed up Naughton to make no mistake from 12 yards.

Half-Time: 3-0

The first fifteen minutes of the second half was a veritable goal-fest, in the 51st minute Thomson crossed from the left for Naughton to tap in from 5 yards.

Three minutes later Naughton completed his hat-trick as he collected a Walker-Donovan cross before leaving two defenders and goalkeeper Andreou in his wake and rolling into an empty net.

A Mewies ball into the channel a minute later released Naughton again, but with only the keeper to beat he lifted the ball the wrong side of the crossbar.

We only had to wait two minutes for the next goal however, surprisingly though it went to the visitors.
A long ball out of defence was sliced by Josh Willis to centre-forward Jem Mills who ran away to beat McNulty with ease.

If Chelmsley had any thoughts of mounting an unlikely comeback they were dashed a minute later as a quick free-kick by Baxter was controlled by Naughton just inside the box, he turned his defender with ease and beat Andreou at his near post.

With half-an-hour still to go, everyone at the game could be forgiven for thinking that Adders would end up with double figures, but despite creating chances for Naughton, Baxter, Thomson and Walker-Donovan (twice), Chelmsley to their credit never gave up and kept the score down to six.

Adders now move on to Wednesday evening and their first derby of the season when Heather St.Johns are the visitors to Sheepy Road, kick-off 7.45pm.
