Talbot had rung some changes with Pettigrew going to right back while Park started up front. The changes didn't prove fruitfull when Carlo Monti put the visitors ahead after running from his own half to despatch the ball past McGarrity. Worst was to come on the 33rd minute when McGoldrick gave away a penalty which Monti slotted past the keeper.
Just before half time Talbot were back in the game when McCann was quickest to react to a young corner and he was allowed to sweep the ball into the net.

Pollok started well in the second half when Bradley hit the post, but on 66th minute Spence and Pettigrew linked well and McCann toe-poked into the net. Talbot went 3-2 up when Spence dinked a good ball into the box and pettigrew made no mistake. Back came Pollok and that man Monti made it 3-3 with a great overhead kick on 78 minutes. Pollok were now on the hunt for the clincher but it came to an end when Gillies chested down the ball, turned the defender and fired the ball past the keeper. In the final minute it was game over when Pettigrew was given acres of space and he rifled the ball into the net for 5-2 Talbot.
