Aveley 1-1 Haringey Borough
Dereham Town 0-2 Aveley
Aveley 0-2 Thurrock

Unfortunately due to other commitments I missed the first game in this month, apparently it wasn’t the best of performances but with ten minutes left David Fallah popped up to clinch the winner which gave the Millers all three points and sent Barkingside closer to being relegated with five games left.

We then hosted Norfolk side, Wroxham to Mill Field on a Monday Night after previous postponement, we started the best and Brian Okwera nodded home from an Abs Seymour ball into the box. Liam Nash and Michael Pindy both had the chances to extend the lead for us but it just wasn’t meant to be in the first half. Of course all 1-0’s are never safe and we were in need of putting a buffer between ourselves and relegation threatened Wroxham. Jamie Forshaw is definitely Wroxham’s best player and he came off after 55 minutes after being marked out of the game superbly by the defence. Jack Edwards and Liam Nash both had another chance but Pride did well in goal to deny both from extended our lead.

Next up was away at Brightlingsea Regent, the hosts needed a win to keep their play-off chances alive but by the end of the match, it was probably two points dropped as again we proved we were in a false position in the division. Regent had the best chances of the first 20 minutes as top goal scorer Phil Kelly surprisingly headed over the bar twice from close range. But overall Marrable was never really tested throughout the match was again was quite surprising with it being a team chasing the final play-off spot. For Aveley, David Fallah nodded wide of the goal after good work from Arian Retkoceri, moments later Michael Pindy saw his shot cannon off the post and end up in Regent’s keeper's grasp. In the second half the Millers controlled the game and had a few chances with Nash having the best at the end of the match, he should’ve probably pulled it back but instead went for goal and the keeper kept it out.

Two days later the Millers hosted Haringey Borough, a team who we played in February and probably put in one of the worst performances of the season and eventually lost 3-1, but in this game it was one full of controversy that’s for sure. I mean this match had everything; goals that shouldn’t have stood, a goal that wasn’t awarded, manager sent off, shots hitting the woodwork, really a good end of season match. Within 30 seconds Asamoah got in behind, he looked way offside but not given, he crossed well to Wilson who smashed home. Andres Tobon curled his shot wide of the right hand post then Perry Dunn’s header cracked the crossbar. After an “exchange” of words between the officials and Justin, our manager was asked to leave the pitch. Followed was chances for Liam Nash and Brian Okwera, but neither could direct their headers on target. Millers started the second half on top and pulled back with a controversial goal, looked like it went out Abs pulled it back for Tobon who tapped into the back of the net. It looked like we were going to win it when Perry Dunn headed into the goal but it was only the two yards over the line and it wasn’t given and the match ended a frustrating 1-1.

Our next match came away at Dereham Town on a Thursday Night due to postponement the previous Saturday! A really long journey and to only have 13 players available the Millers pulled off a great 2-0 result and a delivered one of the performances of the 2015/16 campaign. It was the hosts only fifth defeat at home this season and they were well beaten and the second team throughout the 90 minutes. Michael Pindy had a few chances but just couldn’t open the scoring due to a fine save from Will Viner. In the 26th minute the deadlock was broken a good save from an Andres Tobon shot came back to Olumbe Olliwatimilehain who converted into the goal. We went on to miss from the penalty spot again, which I believe is the 13th missed penalty in the whole season which is quite incredible. We did eventually double our lead and confirm all three points midway through the second half, an Abs Seymour cross came to Billy Coyne and he nodded in to wrap up all three points.

With the last game of the season now, unfortunately it didn’t live up to the billing. Thurrock rested 6 first team players and the Millers were shattered and clearly not able to be at full fitness due to playing and travelling back from Norfolk on Thursday night/ Friday morning when we all arrived home. On the balance of play we probably deserved something out of the match, but a free-kick that went straight in and a powerful header were the difference in what was a well contested match.

But it just wasn’t to be, and after an up and down season the Millers have already made 12 signings for our squad for the 2016/17 season, and a few more to come as we started pre-season training in a few weeks time, and start our pre-season friendlies at the beginning of July.

Thank you to everyone’s support in the 2015/16! We hope to see you all back for our last season at Mill Field as we start to create some history for the football club, with that I’m sure it will be a successful season with all of your support as always!
