Aveley Football Club can announce that midfielder Jack Edwards has agreed terms and will play for the Millers next campaign.

With now eight players (including Jack Edwards) from last seasons squad signed up so far, the Millers have been able to keep this core group together in preparation for the 2016/17 campaign.

Jack, started his career at Southend United in the youth setup after rejecting fellow Essex Side, Colchester United. He went on to captain the Southend youth side until he was released by Phil Brown in 2014.

He joined from Billerciay Town last season, initially on a two month loan deal but eventually joined until the end of the season. During his time at the club he was a real prominent figure in the heart of midfield.

Despite an injury which kept him out for two-three weeks, he came back into the side and showed how good he can be for the Millers.

Millers Boss Justin Gardner now goes off on holiday after a busy two days building his side for next season. "Jack [Edwards] is an important player for us and it was key he stayed. I'm very happy happy to have him on board."

Along with Jack Edwards, Justin Gardner has kept a good core from last seasons squad, so far including; Billy Coyne, Perry Dunn, James Marrable, Brian Okwera, Michael Pindy, Arian Retkoceri and Abs Seymour.

Justin Gardner added "It's very important we keep this group together and then to add quality. And these lads get to lead us out of this stadium and into the new ground."

The Millers Boss looks to be on his way on holiday after this deal adding "Last bit of business as I'm off to the airport now!"

Everyone at Aveley would like to welcome Jack Edwards back for the 2016/17 campaign.
