Millers busy in the market !

Aveley manager Rod Stringer has today strengthend his squad ahead of tomorrows match against Cray Wanderers with the signing of Greg Lincoln from Blue Square South neighbours Thurrock.

Greg joined Thurrock in May 2007, he has represented England at Under-20 level. Greg began his career as a trainee with Arsenal in 1996, earning a Premier Youth League winners' medal in 1998 and signing a professional contract the same year. Despite making the bench for League Cup and UEFA Champions League games, by the time he was released by Arsenal, at the end of the 2000-01 season, he had yet to make his first team debut.

In 2001 he had brief spells at, Torquay United on non-contract terms, Swedish side Hammarby, Margate and Leyton Orient. In June 2002, Lincoln joined Northampton Town, making his league debut on October 29, 2002 as a second-half substitute, Greg remained with Northampton until May 2004 when he was released. He had a trial with Barnet, but in August 2004 signed for Redbridge and joined Chelmsford City in June 2005, but in December 2005 moved to Cambridge City.

Two players have decided to move on this week, they are Piers Wixon who joins Brentwood Town, in the search for regular 1st XI action, and Mitch Hahn who has moved to Bishop's Stortford. Our best wishes go to them both for thier contributions made this season.
