On this wet weekend in the Ryman North, hopefully all the matches below can survive pitch inspections to provide us entertainment this afternoon.

With the commitment of the FA Trophy, both Bury Town and Tilbury matches have been put back to a later game, the matches were against Thamesmead and Redbridge respectively.

The battle at the top intensifies with AFC Sudbury hosting playoff dark horses Phoenix Sports, if you were a betting man you would side with AFC, but Phoenix Sports have impressive away victories at Maldon & Tiptree and Aveley FC.

Another AFC, this time Hornchurch travel to what could be a rejuvenated Heybridge Swifts. After victory over League 2 side Dagenham & Redbridge, Heybridge Swifts could use that self-belief and new found confidence to cause an upset.

Thurrock have now scored 90th minute goals in 6 of their last 8 matches and would you put it past them to do it again away at Waltham Abbey, a team that on paper shouldn't be down there in the relegation battle.

Top of the table Cray Wanderers host Wroxham. The Yachtsmen haven't really reached the expectations after a superb season last year. In contrast Cray Wanderers have met all what was thought they would do so far by topping the league after 24 games.

Other matches in and around the top are; Aveley v Dereham Town, level on games, level on points and both four points off of the playoffs. A massive game as Essex and Norfolk go to battle to push for the top five, with Bury Town and Tilbury not playing, both sides can pull closer to their aims this season.

Barkingside haven't had the best of recent weeks, but now they host the leagues in-form side, Brightlingsea Regent. If Regent win their matches on hand, they will be level on points with Bury Town and in the mix for the playoffs. Regent also have 5 games in hand on both The Millers and Dereham, mentioned above.

Harlow Town back from all cup action, now can really focus on the league are only five points off the playoffs with a game in hand. They this afternoon travel to Great Wakering Rovers. Rovers look like they will be marooned in the midtable, they are four points off of 14th placed Maldon & Tiptree, and also four points clear of Witham Town.

Romford also host an impressive Cheshunt side today. Boro at the moment are six points clear of Redbridge who are third bottom, and because the Motormen's match is off due to the FA Trophy, Romford can extend that to 9 points and make themselves clear away from the drop zone. Their opponents today, Cheshunt haven't got the results recently, and need to get back on track a defeat can see them draw level on points with 13th.

Battle near the bottom as Soham Town Rangers host Haringey Borough. In recent weeks Borough look to be gaining momentum and a win was coming and after their midweek win they look high on confidence and will be looking to win this afternoon in Suffolk.

The final game this afternoon sees 16th placed Witham Town, take on 14th placed Maldon & Tiptree, only two places separate these sides but 8 points are also the difference. Maldon & Tiptree will be looking for a reaction after defeat midweek to Haringey Borough.
