under 7's win again!!!
Sunday 21st February 2010
1st game Avonmouth 11 – Old Reds 8
2nd game Avonmouth 5 – Old Reds 5
A bright and sunny February morning saw another amazing performance from Avonmouth under 7’s.
Old Reds were the visitors who arrived with a mixture of under 7’s and 8’s. The game kicked of on an extremely wet and muddy pitch but it was no obstacle for either team.
A high scoring first game was full of fantastic play from both sides. The tremendous team spirit of Avonmouth seems to be getting better every week and their exceptional support play never ceases to amaze all who spectate. The first game finished 11 – 8 in Avonmouth’s favour.
The second game saw Old Reds come back with a vengeance. Conditions were becoming trickier as the pitch was getting more and more boggy!! Old Reds kept the score level at
5 – 5 with some excellent break away trys!
A special welcome back to Courtney Souch who played a great first game back this year!
We truly struggled this week to choose a “Man of the Match” as all players were first class! The hesitant passing that got us penalised a couple of times in our last game seemed to be rectified with some superb quick passes. However, we decided that Alfie Knott just pipped it, with some great all round play and as today’s captain; brilliant organising in the starting line.
Tim & Lisa would like to thank Mark Souch for score and time keeping and of course all parents and grandparents for their continued support.
