Avonmouth Prepare for Coming Season

Avonmouth Old Boys have moved quickly in the last two weeks by appointing Neil Loader as the new Head-Coach & Bristol Rugby's Marco Mama as Forwards Coach for the 2015/16 season following the recent news that both Andy Webb & Simon Weaver will be stepping down after a 2 year spell with us.
Andy Webb is stepping away from his role at Avonmouth Old Boys due to a promotion within RFU and Simon Weaver recently becoming a father for the first time has also taken on the head coaching role at UWE.

Neil has been a Rugby Development officer within the RFU since 2009 and boasts coaching roles at Italian side L'Aquila Rugby, Rugby Lyons & most recently at National 1 side Cinderford RFC.
Loader spent 5 years coaching in Italy, two years working with Rugby Parma U21 squad before taking on the first team for a season.
The former Swindon RFC player and coach was then headhunted by Rugby Lyons Piacenza before taking on a role with L'Aquila Rugby in the Italian Top 10 & Serie A.
Marco has been at Bristol Rugby since 2009 coming through the academy ranks.
Having impressed over the last few seasons with some dogged performances in the Bristol hoops and cementing his place within the first team squad he has now expressed an interest in a coaching role. Avonmouth have had strong links with players from Bristol in the past and this is another venture we as a club are very excited about.

A welcome meeting will be held on the 28th May at 7pm to give a chance for playing members to meet the new coaching staff and discuss the coming season.
